This man's hike in the woods turned into a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
Outdoor enthusiast Trevor Rasmussen was hiking in Montana last summer when he spotted something unusual — and incredible — sitting in front of him: a full-grown mountain lion.
In the video, the mountain lion sits comfortably on the trail path as Rasmussen approaches. When the big cat spots Rasmussen, he lets out a yawn then starts to languorously stroll down the path.
Fortunately, Rasmussen keeps his head on straight. Standing his ground, he firmly shouts at the cat and tells it to go away. (Mountain lions are rarely dangerous when treated respectfully, but better safe than sorry.)
Sure enough, the big cat changes his path and heads off into the brush — keeping a wary eye on Rasmussen as he goes.
While seeking out predatory wild animals is never a good idea, this video proves once again that we don't need zoos or captivity to have stunning encounters with wildlife.

Ok that's pretty cool. Seems quite calm you should have asked it to come closer and spoken for a while.
He looks as tho he has a mouth or tooth infection
My friend and I had an encounter during a night hike a few days ago. All we could see was the eyeshine about 15-20 feet away, and we responded the exact same way -- raised voices, told cat to go away (repeated several times that we were big and scary-- we're each 120 lbs). Amazing that you videotaped this -- even if we'd had a night camera available, our hands were shaking a bit too much. I'm in agreement that it was a bit scary, and incredibly cool.
