Bald eagles are back. And what better way to celebrate than watching eagles chatter, peal and scream over a brand-new egg?

This nesting bald eagle, the star of a live-stream video in Decorah, Iowa, has already laid her first egg of 2015:

An additional one or two eggs should be laid soon, a raptor expert told local news station KCRG 9. The mother eagle and her male companion, who also appears on camera, have been live-stream celebs since 2007, thanks to the Raptor Resource Project.

Through the genius of the Raptor Resource Project a 24 hour webcam has been placed so that the world may watch the growth and lives of a family of bald eagles.


Pesticides like DDT devastated bald eagle populations in the 1970s, and hunting posed a threat the century before that. The birds recently rebounded, however, with an estimated 10,000 pairs around the U.S.  (Source)
