Rescue team plucks dog from Chewuch River
A dog needed rescuing from the bed of a pick-up truck after the vehicle accidentally rolled into a river, leaving her surrounded by raging rapids.
Jessie, a Border-Collie Heeler mix was the picture of calm given her dire situation.
She stayed put in the back of the truck while her owner, Paul Picolet called for help. Paul had not been in the truck when it inadvertently rolled from a parking lot into the Chewuch River, according to the Methow Valley News. Members of Okanogan Couty’s Swiftwater Rescue Team in Washington state responded while onlookers cheered them on.
Using an inflatable raft, Vikki and Ottis Buzzard maneuvered the raft to the submerged truck and got to Jessie, who was relieved to be carried into the boat.
Jessie happily arrived on shore and back into the waiting arms of Paul.
