Derrick Suwaima Davis at the 2014 Heard Museum World Championship Hoop Dance Contest

On Sunday, February 9, at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Derrick Suwaima Davis confirmed his status as the world's greatest hoop dancer by winning the Adult division of the World Championship Hoop Dance Contest for an unprecedented seventh time.

The competition was the 24th the museum has held, and Davis, Hopi/Choctaw, was also the winner in 2013. The clip was produced for the Heard Museum by Lizard Light Productions; visit the company's YouTube feed for more Native-oriented videos and its Facebook page for news and photo galleries.
