Sniffer the wild fox and Tinni the dog became best friends one day after they met by chance one day in the woods of Norway.
Their friendship is a highly unlikely one and their bond seems to be helped by the remoteness of the forest they live in and their acceptance of one another. The dog and fox in normal circumstances would usually be enemies - separated by tens of thousands of years of domestication but these two have ignored that and share their unlikely bond.
Tinni's owner, Torgeir Berge, lives in the forest with his dog, and is also a photographer. He has been at hand to capture every heartwarming moment between the two best of friends as they frolick and play in the secluded woods.
After observing how similar foxes and dogs actually are, Berge began calling the fox the "dog of the forest." This prompted him to start a campaign against the highly controversial fur trade. Berge and his friend Berit Helberg plan to release a book sometime next year chronicling the duo, because "no animals should be living like the animals in the fur industry are living."
Berge and Helberg said they plan to donate a portion of the proceeds to help save the Sniffers (foxes) of the world. The pair put their motivation quite simply in a description of the project: "Why [should] some animals be in small, narrow, claustrophobic cages without freedom just because ... human kind wants to look good?"
In the meantime though, Sniffer and Tinni will just continue to play around like two dogs would in the park let off their leash - free to be best friends in their Norwegian forest.

sweet :-)
If we just take time to watch nature and animals. We will learn alot .. Lovely photos . Thank you for sharing. :)
Lovely story. heart warming! I hope your campaign makes a change. I think anyone who uses fur or wears it is a very selfish and greedy unfeeling prat.
Best of luck and I hope their friendship is long lasting.
