A GoPro camera has captured a pride of lions embracing South Africa's "lion whisperer" Kevin Richardson.
Self-trained animal behaviorist and lion whisperer Kevin Richardson has some unorthodox practices for dealing with large predators like these lions.
He claims that "his unique method of getting to know their individual personalities, what makes each of them angry, happy, upset, or irritated -- just like a mother understands a child -- has caused them to accept him like one of their own, into their fold."
Yet these lions are not the first to recognize, and bond with, a human. For proof, see the reunion video of Christian the lion, or the video of the lion hugging his rescuer after six years.
Interacting with wild animals can be dangerous, but this unique footage certainly makes it look like those lions are happy to see Kevin. (Source)
Kevin Richardson (born October 8, 1974) is a South African animal behaviorist who has conducted extensive research on native animals of Africa. He has been accepted into several clans of spotted hyenas and prides of lions.
Richardson has been featured in many documentaries, movies, and commercials. It was during his stint at the Lion Park that Michael Rosenberg decided to use Richardson's talents in documentaries such as, Dangerous Companions and In Search of a Legend. Growing Up Hyena is a documentary in which Richardson sets out to change the misconception of the hyena as a feared and loathed, evil, scavenger.

greta!
simply great!
Now that was so special to see good come out loving your lions, God Bless him for being so kind"
While this is certainly a touching video, I doubt it would be a good idea to try this on a day when the pride is hungry. I seriously doubt the bond is stronger than the lions' need for sustenance. No doubt Kevin only interacts like this shortly after the pride has eaten or is well fed. And he probably also keeps his distance for a while after new cubs are introduced to the pride (at least if he's smart and doesn't want to end up like "Grizzly Man").
