Pilot N Paws is an amazing organization dedicated to giving shelter dogs another chance by flying them to rescues and foster homes around the U.S. Pilot N Paws volunteers donate their time, gas money and their planes in order to accomplish this.
This past Saturday they were involved in "Operation Special Delivery" and the operation involved over 50 pilots flying 400 dogs from high-kill animal shelters in Georgia to rescues all along the east coast in the United States. Some of the dogs rescued from the shelters were just hours away from being euthanized.
The Georgia airport was covered with fog that morning but as the fog lifted so did the 45 plus planes with their precious cargo of rescued dogs. It was the largest single-day air and land rescue of shelter animals ever in the southeast according to the rescue.
On Pilots N Paws Facebook page they wrote, "We're on scene at the Midcoast Regional Airport in Hinesville, Georgia and our pilots are ready to make history and set a record for the largest animal rescue flyway event in US history! We'll be flying over 400 animals along the east coast to new homes and areas where they will be adopted quickly!"
36 hours later and thousands of miles traveled, all the dogs were safely transported to awaiting foster families and rescues. By the end of the day the dogs had arrived in Florida, New Jersey, Washington D.C. and Virginia. The dogs are expected to be adopted in the next few weeks.

The (shelter?) in Forks, Washington is called Olympic Animal Shelter. The conditions are horrendous - not in pens but in crates never to come out again. No daylight, grass, sun, love or care. Once in there, the only way out is death. A slow, lonely, horrible, desperate life with no way out but death. Please help!
Correct name of FORKS WA shelter is Olympic Animal Sanctuary. Link is for KOMO, a Seattle TV news story about the shelter a few days ago. http://www.komonews.com/news/local/Former-supporter-calls-Forks-dog-sanctuary-a-torture-chamber-224972202.html
Good luck my adorables.
That is awesome guys!! Wish I had the facilities to take them all.
Kudos to the pilots and MOMS rescue for helping all these animals!
