On July 12, 2013, in Argentina, a 1-month old baby was abandoned in a neighborhood yard. Luckily for the infant this yard was where Puti, a mixed breed dog was sleeping.
Puti had recently given birth to a litter of puppies. She gathered up the baby and nestled him in with her puppies, protecting them all from the cold temperatures and keeping the baby alive.
The abandonment took place in Virrey del Pino, Argentina, and on the night the baby was left the temperatures reached below zero degrees. The next morning Puti’s owners heard the baby cries and went outside and found the baby with Puti. They immediately called the police and the authorities took baby Santino ( the name given to the baby by his rescuers) to the nearby hospital Equiza de González Catán.
The doctors examined baby Santino and concluded that he was still in excellent health. But they all agreed if it wasn’t for Puti and her motherly instincts, Santino would have died from frostbite on that night he was left abandoned.
A 33-year-old woman named Paula, who was an ex-resident of Virrey del Pino, had come back for a visit and brought with her a baby. She asked a local woman to look after her child while she visited other residents, but the woman refused to because she felt Santino was too young and the woman felt suspicious about Paula's motive.
The authorities investigated and concluded Paula left Virrey del Pino with the baby that same day but had returned during late hours of the night to abandon Santino. She was detained for two days after Santino’s abandonment. Puti the dog was a much better mother to Santino than his own biological mother.

When will Human Beings realize that All Animals experience the same Emotions that Humans DO ?????
love this, almost cried
Great story. Uh, would someone feed Puti, she is a bit thin.. :)
Thank God for Puti.
dogs are our first teachers they have been beside man for 1000s of years. many animal spirits wait for you to learn from dog first, befor they will guide you dog spirits guide to humanity or maybe it should be called canineity .
I hope someone feeds this dog. She looks hungry and miserable. And spay her!
Its not right that the dog and pups are left outside in the freezing cold.
She should at least have a kennel if not kept inside!
Motherly instinct it seems to be stronger in adorable animals than in humans whose "logic" thinking leads them to catastrophy of others.
this is a bitter sweet yet amazing. people not all abuse
I have something in my eyes, Im not crying.
