Who would have thought a cute kitten and a tiny hedgehog could become best riends?

Adorable footage posted online shows curious cat Loki playing with newfound prickly pal Harley.

At first the pair seem unsure of each other, with Loki carefully looking on as Harley attempts to climb out of a tub of water.

But before long the duo gain the confidence to approach each other and become fast friends.

By the end of the heartwarming video, posted on YouTube by TheSorryGirls, two-and-a-half-month-old Loki feels so relaxed he decides to take a chilled out nap on his back.

The short clip was shot on a Canon 5DIII with a 50mm lens to produce a very narrow depth of field.

With an acoustic version of Randy Newman's “You've Got a Friend in Me” from “Toy Story” playing, it has been seen more than 3 million times.
