Attawapiskat Chief Spence set to end fast by Thursday
Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence will end her 44 day hunger strike she began on December 11, 2012 sources on Victoria Island confirmed today. Chief Spence has lived on Victoria Island since beginning her the hunger strike.
Ray Robinson, who has been on the hunger strike as well, though he began is strike two days later than did Chief Spence, will end his hunger strike as well.
Chief Spence had vowed to continue her hunger strike until there was a meeting between all leaders of the First Nations, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Governor General David Johnston.
In recent days, there has been strong pressure on Chief Spence to end her hunger strike. APTN National News in Canada reported late today that a delegation of band councilors from the Attawapiskat was expected to hand-deliver a letter to Chief Spence to end her hunger strike or face removal as their chief. This has not been confirmed by the Native News Network.
“They are coming in tonight,”
said a source close to Chief Spence told APTN National News.
“Then it will end.”

"Well, it's official people. Chief Spence and Raymond Robinson are satisfied with the Declaration of Commitment signed by the Leadership. They have been endorsed to carry on the work she has started. It is a bittersweet ending to her hunger strike – which will end tonight. 44 days without food is a long time. Our Ogitchita Kwe gets to go home now to continue her journey in the physical world. Today, I am sad, but very relieved she will walk out of here alive. I support and honour her decision. Thank you everyone for your continued prayers and love." Megwetch.

It's sad that the Indians are still having to go through stuff like this. Hasn't there been enough done to them throughout history. It just shows what courage they truely have, to risk starving to death to get something they more than likely deserve. It's just history repeating itself.
and our work must continue so that her work does not go in vain. Miigwech, Chief Spence, for helping wake us up.
Chief Spence should stay focused as we all know the government will b e making side deals with other chiefs and future sideline deals to hamper her journey sometimes as we travel those roads it is safer to travel alone or with afew trusted friends and to remain focused that is why when we have vision quests it is done alone,,,,,with the support of our community,,,,,,,,,trust none with a tainted heart and greedy ideals,,,,,,,
Many prayers to you chief spence, looks like you shook the tree, unfortunately the letter handing to you to me seems traitorous they are threaten with your strength and resolve...thank you we will continue IDLE NO MORE!!!!!!!! stay focused grand lady...warrior woman!

How much weight did she lose? Cause it can be devistating to the body to go that long with out anything. Concerned for her health?
How did she make it? It's a hard thing to achieve.
Wow!! How did she make it? That's quite hard to do.
Well done our elder. We hope your voice will be heard and will ring strong and true. Prayer to you from the Mountains of Oregon
Fasting can be dangerous , without regard for preparing .I hope and pray she is well , and is praising the most HIgh . Few people can go that long on a fast . She does not look like she has lost any thickness in her skin . Drink lots of water honey !
I pray this spurs other brethren and sisters and all families to fast , often , for the father Most High , for the people , for the animals , for mother earth
