Recently in Finland, 2 small dogs were chasing a badger and fell down into a deep and narrow ravine on Monday.
The dachshund mixes were imprisoned for several meters deep at its narrowest, which was less than 30cm's. Luckily someone eventually found them and a rescue effort was then put into place.
The rescue operation was not going to be a very easy matter. Palomestari Timosaari described the place to be a very difficult and cramped space that the dogs were trapped in.
Therefore the rescuers used a cane, among other things, with a camera attached to the end, so that they could get a picture of where exactly the little dogs were. It was determined that it was going to be a very narrow escape from the hole that they were in.
Eventually the rescuer's efforts were rewarded after about six and a half hours on Wednesday night after the rescue operation had begun. The little Dachshund mix named Esther was the first to be pulled out of the narrow hole. Daphne was finally pulled out about 2 hours later at around 7:30 that evening.
The little dogs were happy to be free from their dark and confining prison and happily wagged their wet and mudcaked tails in grateful thanks to the rescue volunteers. They were quickly given water to drink from a hose and then taken to a house to be warmed up by the fireplace. It could've been a completely different outcome had it not been for the determined and unrelenting efforts of the rescuers who came to their aid. All was well in the end for everyone involved.
How did they manage??? Amazing! Beautiful story! Thank you :-)

Thank you all for caring enough to save these two dogs, some people would not even bother. It is lovely to know that there are still loving caring people still in this world who care about animals. All you see and hear on the internet is how animals are abused, tortured or killed. Thank you for rescuing these dogs, God Bless you all.

Thank you for saving these dogs!!
Great work! Dachshunds are well known for chasing badgers and other animals into holes that are hard to get out of. Glad you were there to help them out!
