Parents everywhere watching the Series Premiere of "Frozen Planet" (Sun, 8 p.m. ET on Discovery) Sunday night empathized with a female polar bear as she tried to get her young cubs to toe the line.
Heading in search of a seal to catch for food, the mom led her two incredibly cute cubs across the ice. Only for one, and then the other, to wander off at a tangent to have fun.
As the baby polar bears gambolled on the ice, any seals lurking underneath would have instantly detected their vibrations and been warned of danger. Thus making the mother polar bear's job of fetching dinner that much harder.
Mom managed to rein the toddlers in for a while, but as the trio carried on their way the frisky youngsters were just too excited and kept frolicking.
Eventually, like exasperated moms everywhere, the polar bear had to give her cubs a stern talking to and a time out.
