The Spirit of love and goodwill is needed all year long
Tis the season to want to help those who are less fortunate that we are. We feel the urge to become more like the wonderful angels that we see everywhere in the beautiful Christmas and holiday scenes. We want to share our good will and kindness and love to all those whose paths we tend to cross at this time. We want all to feel the peace of the season.
But there is a need to be human angels all year round and to help those who need us whether they be other fellow humans or our brother animals. The world can be a frightful place and without those who are willing to step in at a moments notice without real concern for their own welfare to help others, it would indeed be a hopeless and dreary place.
The following video shows the perfect example of that kind of compassionate spirit to give of oneself. It is the story of a young man who while out on a day's hike to enjoy nature, comes across an abandoned puppy. Not only abandoned but abandoned at the bottom of a 350 ft. canyon. The puppy was very emaciated and close to death. It would have been so easy to just turn and walk the other way. There was nothing he could do at that point lacking the proper climbing equipment and a way to get the puppy out. But he did not walk away. Instead he threw down a blanket and some food to the puppy and he made a promise to return. And return he did.
The next day he came back with ropes and a crate to pull the puppy out. He was willing to risk his own life climbing down into that steep canyon. There was no guarantee that the puppy would survive either. But that did not stop him. This man was the true spirit of love that we feel now so strongly during the holidays and a wonderful reminder to carry that spirit with us all year long.
Peace and goodwill to all.
The Creator knew in advance this pup wa going to need help and sent the best man for the job.
Beautiful -- just beautiful.
What a beautiful story. We need more people like this guy to save animals. God bless him.
