Lesley Harrison was a born animal lover. Growing up in Sacramento, California, her early life consisting of living with a menagerie of animals from dogs and cats to chickens. She describes her love of animals as being in her blood. When she was only in the 2nd grade she began drawing animals a lot. Her favorite animal to draw was that of horses.
Now as an adult she paints not only horses but other wildlife such as wolves, foxes and mountain lions. She also does human portraits and figures. On painting animals, she has described it as, "I have always sought to form connections with animals, not merely study them. I'm not looking for a portrait. I'm looking for a connection."
Lesley has also chosen her medium to paint in pastels rather than oil paints. Even though pastels are very difficult to master, Lesley has received a number of professional honors & awards for her technical excellence. She also works on location and supplements those sessions with reference photographs.
Lesley currently lives in California in a beautiful area near Lake Tahoe. She lives with her husband, John who is a sculptor. It is here where she continues to paint and also hold workshops on painting in pastels. Mostly likely you will recognize some of her beautiful paintings below.

Beautiful pic's
These are absolutely gorgeous. I love animals too, they, in my opinion, are so much more loving and pleasant to be around more than any person. I wish I had the talent to draw or paint them, but even more, I am working on trying to learn healing/energy and connect with them spiritually so we can understand each other. I want to be Mrs. Doolittle!! :) Again, your paintings are very beautiful you have caught the emotion of each of the animals posted here. You have been blessed with a very beautiful gift, please continue to share it with others, people need to connect more with animals, there is so much love in them and they are REAL, they don't try to be someone they are not.

QUEL SENSATION QUI ME PASSE DANS LE CORPS
I find myself draw to animals to teach me spiritual ways of living in the world. I no longer look to humans, who I find to be a terrible and parasitic species. Thanks for bringing me closer to my 'God' today xxx
