White is the colour of the circle of life. Across the world, white is used on significant occasions, such as at birth, conveying innocence, truth in love, purity of union and tranquillity at death. White flowers represent peace and purity, and if they are given as a gift they are a gesture of respect.
Flowers are one of the most beautiful creations of nature. Their colors attract one and all. Their breezing fragrance refreshes every being. Blossoms enchant every soul, be it a butterfly, be it a human being! Flowers personify beauty and positivity. Many of us know that these beauties carry their own meaning. Different flowers symbolize different sentiments. They have a language of their own. Every shade and every scent has something to say.
Often associated with innocence, humility, and reverence, white flowers evoke simple beauty. Whether they take their shape as the luxurious, silk petals of fragrant gardenias, the small, white bells of a lily of the valley, or the quiet drama of a dozen white roses, fresh floral arrangement dominated by white blossoms conveys modesty and elegance.

This is the Kadupul - the legendary flower of the Celestial Nagas. It is believed that when these flowers bloom, the Nagas come down from their celestial abodes, to offer them to the Buddha on the Holy Mountain Sri Pada. The strange fragrance, the midnight miracle, and the fact that flowers bloom in the season when people flock to Sri Pada, seem to add authenticity to this belief (Photo by ~godwantsudead)
